mother warming

A traditional postpartum recovery practice for warming and re-energizing a mother’s abdomen in the days following childbirth.

In the practice of mother warming, burning moxa (mugwort) is applied to the low back and abdomen, where linea alba typically presents. The procedure is done in about 15-20 minutes.

This treatment is revered for providing pain relief, boosting energy and invigorating the body’s innate healing wisdom. Mother warming is extremely gentle and safe, and is easy to perform at home under guidance of a trained practitioner.
